So what price can you expect to pay for a quality, bespoke website?
"Business Card" Site
Business Card sites £99.
A single page to get you started, including your own .uk domain and one years web hosting. As with any site, you can bolt on additional pages and functionality as your business grows. A single page might also be suitable if you belong to a business community site or directory and simply need a single page of your own.
You still get quality web code with basic optimisation built in, and copyright in your design.
Static Web Site
Brochure Web Sites from £350
A standard web site with web pages requiring no additional e-commerce or database functionality.
If you just want a website that describes your business and provides a contact point, but you don't need to sell online then this option is for you. As a guide, an 8-10 page site normally costs between £350 - £500 but this may vary according to your content.
E-commerce: online shopping, online payments and donations
E-commerce sites from £899.
Our e-commerce solutions generally make use of open source code however we would be pleased to discuss your preferred software solution. Online shops are normally complex and need databases to store product information. Pricing will vary according to the software solution, number of products and preparation of product information required. You will also need secure payment facilities and again we are happy to discuss your preferred payment service provider. E-commerce sites start at £899.
However, if you are selling low quantities of a very small number of items from a standard website, then it may be possible simply to add payment facilities, such as those provided by PayPal, to your site. Such sites are not full feature e-commerce applications but may be all you need to get started. Pricing will depend on the number of products involved. This functionality also applies to those wishing to invite online donations and offer online subscription payments.
Database Driven websites
Database driven websites store web content in a database separate from your standard web pages. Broadly speaking, information from the database can be displayed to visitors dynamically. Therefore, your web pages seem to change every time they are viewed, in response to how a visitor uses your site. This is different from static or standard web pages, which always look the same.
Databases make it much easier to update and maintain, for example, photographs in a gallery site or product information, especially if your site gets bigger. Databases also mean advanced search facilities can be built in, helping usability of your site.
KatyWeb prefers open source software PHP and MySQL for database driven sites, however we are happy to discuss your specific needs with you.
Added features
Features not included in a standard site will be priced extra. The price will depend on the actual function or features you require and the number of related pages. Examples of added features include logo design, Flash programming, audio and video file preparation, content management systems that allow you to manage your website, forums and bulletin board type features. Please contact us to discuss your needs and we will be happy to give you a quote.
